POSITION:  The Consumer Leader is responsible for the safe supportive operation of the Sharon Drop-In Center Site and the development of empowerment and leadership skills in mental health consumers.  Act 33 and 34 Clearances required.  Must maintain a current driver's license and vehicle insurance. Must have strong interpersonal skills, knowledge, of the M.H System.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  A mental health consumer who has participated in a leadership role as evidenced by: attending MH/MR planning meetings, other advisory boards, or Community Support Program regional meetings.

 

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Facilitate a weekly member's meeting to get feedback and suggestions regarding programming.

 

  1. Open and close Drop-In Center insuring the site is clean and secured.

 

  1. Make meals, coffee and provide snacks, when needed.

 

  1. Collect and monitor money from snack and soda purchased, as well as petty cash purchases and fundraising money.

 

  1. Attend monthly regional Community Support Program meetings and local CSP meeting.

 

  1. Set operation hours for Drop-In Center- develop schedule based upon attendance trends.

 

  1. a) Schedule activities for monthly calendar and make all necessary contacts to obtain tickets, transportation, and

     arrangements with other drop in centers to provide these activities.

 

  1. b) Meet weekly with supervisor to discuss problems, paperwork, and other issues regarding the drop in center

     operations.

 

  1. c) Turn in completed sign in sheets to appropriate personnel weekly and by the 2nd working day of the new month.

 

  1. In case of emergency involving injury to any person or damage to property the appropriate personnel will be notified.

     Report other problems to supervisor the following working day and document via incident form per agency policy.

 

 

 

  1. Treats all members with respect and encourages appropriate behavior from all members.

 

  1. Attend all mandated CCC in-services/training programs.

 

  1. Any violation of policies and procedures/job duties will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

  1. Other Consumer Leader duties as required.

 

  1. Monitor daily attendance sign in sheet. Submit intake paperwork on all new members.

 

  1. Make list of supplies to be purchased and forward to advisor on a monthly basis.

 

  1. Function as contact person for both Drop in Center sites.

 

  1. Provide supervision/guidance/coaching to all Drop in Center Staff including Janitorial staff, report any issues to Supervisor immediately.

 

  1. Present Public awareness/education speeches in the Community regarding Dic/Recovery.

 

  1. Be creative in developing meaningful group/activities based on the member feedback.

 

  1. Increase positivity.

 

19.Be familiar with all Community Counseling Center's sites and provide referral information to members.  

 

  1. Provide marketing to CCC and other MH providers to increase membership.

 

  1. Network with community leaders (Sharon and Greenville) in order to promote DIC and get the members opportunities to become more active within their communities.

 

  1. Responsible for all cash handling for petty cash, fundraising, etc.

 

  1. Chair the fundraising committee and create opportunities to raise and use funds. .

 

  • Maintains and upholds Community Counseling Center's policies, respects confidentiality, and exhibits a professional demeanor at all times while at work.

 

  • Any violation of policies and procedures/job duties will be subject to disciplinary action.

 

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

  • Can perform the essential functions of this position with reasonable accommodations, if necessary.

 

  • Participates in CCC CQI plan to ensure quality of service to CCC consumers.
