QUALIFICATIONS:  Master's Degree in a mental health related area with documented training in the field of behavior modification techniques or supervised by a licensed Doctoral level psychologist or by a licensed clinical psychologist.  At least one year experience in a CASSP System (employed by another contract to Children & Youth Services, working with children), or employed by a licensed mental health service agency or subcontracted agency. Act 33/34 & PA FBI clearances required.  Child Protective Service Law Training (CPSL) completion required. Awareness and sensitivity to multicultural issues. Maintain a current driver's license and insurance coverage for vehicle.  Must have own transportation.  Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

School Based

  1. Provides mental health and psychosocial assessments, history taking, individual/family and group school based services that meet Agency productivity goals and case management to children and adolescents with mental health needs.
  2. Assesses strengths and therapeutic needs of a child and family utilizing active listening questioning and exchanging information to complete the assessment.
  3. Maintains required documentation on each client assigned (including treatment plans, progress notes, and utilization review deficiencies correction) meeting all timelines for these as detailed in the relevant agency policy as well as writing reports, summaries and letters.
  4. Requires work in school based locations in Mercer County
  5. Provides community education as time permits.  This involves public speaking, planning and participating in education workshops, seminars, etc.
  6. Participates in the utilization/peer review process, audits, supervision and treatment team meetings.
  7. Includes child as a participant in his/her own treatment.
  8. Reports directly to assigned Clinical Administrator or Program Manager/designee. Outpatient   Director

Outpatient

  1. Provides mental health and psychosocial assessments, history taking, individual/family and group outpatient office based services that meet Agency productivity goals and case management to children and adolescents with mental health needs.
  2. Assesses strengths and therapeutic needs of a child and family utilizing active listening questioning and exchanging information to complete the assessment.
  3. Maintains required documentation on each client assigned (including treatment plans, progress notes, and utilization review deficiencies correction) meeting all timelines for these as detailed in the relevant agency policy as well as writing reports, summaries and letters.
  4. Provides intensive therapeutic services to a child and family in office settings.
  5. This position may require work in satellite office (Grove City and Greenville), or school-based settings.
  6. Participates on agency committees as time and scheduling permit.
  7. Provides child centered family-focused individual and family psychotherapy as agreed upon by the therapist and family utilizing a strength-based approach.  Involved community or educational persons may be included as clinically indicated.
  8. Able to determine the clinical need for special evaluations and services such as
  9. psychiatric medication assessment, or psychological testing in conjunction with child, family and other involved professionals.
  10. Includes parents or other caretakers as members of the treatment team and partners in treatment.  Supports parental involvement in Treatment Plan Development and review, and individualized Education Plans.
  11. Reports directly to assigned Outpatient Director
  12. May be required to work evening hours. May also be required to work non-traditional hours if needed. Supervisor will determine this according to need.

 (BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST CONSULTANT BSC)

  1. Designs and directs the implementation of a behavior modification intervention plan which is individualized to each child or adolescent and to family needs.  Direct service will comprise 90% of the Behavior Specialist Consultant's time and includes Functional Behavioral Assessment, Extended Evaluation, Resource Development and production of charts and graphs to present current data.
  2. Identifies client/family strengths, behavioral goals, intervention techniques and recommends non-aversive behavioral change methods through data analysis, Functional Behavioral Assessment interviews and other behavioral tools.
  3. Maintains required documentation on each client assigned (including treatment plans, progress notes, and utilization review deficiencies correction) meeting all timelines for these as detailed in the relevant agency policy as well as writing reports, summaries and letters.
  4. Includes parents or other caretakers as members of the treatment team and partners in treatment. Supports parental involvement and participates in ISPT meetings, Treatment Plan Development and review, and Individualized Education Plans.
  5. Acts as a consultant to the mobile therapist, TSS Worker, or agency/school personnel.
  6. Provides assessment, program design, and monitoring rather than direct therapy.
  7. Able to determine the clinical need for special evaluations and services such as a 

psychiatric medication assessment, or psychological testing in conjunction with child, family, and other involved professionals.

  1. Collaborates with child, family, and other professionals to develop daily routines during times of crisis and transition and to develop a 24 hour crisis plan.
  2. Collaborates with other involved professionals/agencies in order to provide unified services, referrals and continuity of care to child/family.
  3. Responsible for documented monthly Clinical-Direction Meetings with designated Therapeutic Staff Support Workers.
  4. Responsible for ongoing, documented professional development utilizing professional seminars, current journals, and pertinent books, etc.
  5. May be required to work evening hours. May also be required to work non-traditional hours if needed.
  6. Responsible for developing and providing training to Bachelor Level staff according to program policy.
  7. Position requires evening hours and non-traditional hours when needed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
