Qualifications:  Minimum of four years of experience performing bookkeeping work; or an associate degree in accounting or business administration including 12 credits of accounting or any equivalent combination of experience and training.  Additional duties beyond the current required Fiscal Assistant job descriptions may be considered in exchange for years of experience (example: employee performing services).  Must be able to work days, evenings, or weekends.  Act 33 and 34 Clearances required.  Must maintain a current driver's license and vehicle insurance.

 

Immediate Supervisor:  Fiscal Technician Manager

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Knowledge of liability determinations, ability to complete hardship abatements, and know the state liability regulations. Must remain current on any changes to agency liability process.
  2. Knowledge of the complete accounts receivable process in the Billing Department.
  3. Must be able to accurately complete the agency's daily deposit and posting of funds.
  4. Must have a working knowledge of the agency computer system as it relates to the Billing Department and be able to complete tasks in a timely basis.
  5. Employee is responsible for other duties as assigned by supervisor (Administrative Fiscal Technician) and/or Chief Financial & Operating Officer.
  6. Work and communicate well with co-workers and members of administration.
  7. Respect and maintain a positive attitude with co-workers and administrative staff.
  8. Effective in time management, able to work independently, prioritize and manage time well.
  9. Report to work on time and take breaks appropriately.
  10. Possesses the ability to make sound decisions in order to solve problems, and seek practical solutions to these problems.
  11. Dress and act appropriately to represent the agency in a positive, knowledgeable and professional manner.
  12. Address clients in an effort to collect current and back balances due.
  13. Process 3rd party billing, adjustment and rejections as assigned.
  14. Knowledge of electronic billing.
  15. Knowledge of posting of electronic payments
  16. Electronic billing to Medicare
  17. Electronically applies Medicare payments
  18. Trouble shoots denied claim so they can be rebilled and do adjustments
  19. Bill problem claims on Medicare web site.
  20. Completes registrations/liabilities for new client and updates
  21. Tracks when registration/liabilities need updated for all programs
  22. Monitors when abatement needs done
  23. Send abatements electronically to therapist to be completed and to CEO for approval.
  24. Send abatement electronically to BHC and tracks them until they are returned.
  25. Update Liability of the client if abatements are approved
  26. Complete the D&A redetermination forms to send to the BHC. to reduce client responsibility
  27. Update client chart when D&A redetermination received from the BHC electrically.
  28. Monitor aging accounts monthly for billing charges over 90 days.
  29. Work evenings and weekends to meet the demands of the department when necessary.

 

  • Maintains and upholds Community Counseling Center's policies, respects confidentiality, and exhibits a professional demeanor at all times while at work.
  • Any violation of policies and procedures/job duties will be subject to disciplinary action.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Participates in CCC CQI plan to ensure quality of service to CCC consumers.
